Bio

It all began as humble beginnings at Grandma's house; playing dress up in her high heels and sequin dresses, donning costume jewels, and pretending that grandiose 5 bedroom Tudor style house was actually a real-life Clue mansion and everyday presented new mysterys to solve...

Harlow Holiday always had a knack for the dramatic. She began her theatrical journey landing a role in the elementary school production of "Oliver Twist". Finding her voice, she knew the stage was her outlet and the place she felt she belonged. Harlow went on to participate in middle school productions as an actress and member of the production design team, and then tried her hand at producing comedy sketches in her high school's local vartiety shows with great success. A turn of events in life following graduation kept Harlow from pursuing her dreams of gracing the stage for many years until Harlow discovered a newfound love for bellydance, specifically the Tribal Fusion style emerging from the infitely evolving and creative San Francisco Bay Area. Inspired by Rachel Brice and Zoe Jakes, Harlow spent several years studying and practicing different styles of dance including Egyptian, Tribal Fusion, and Flamenco before a tragic accident in 2005 left her with multiple injuries and serious complications.

It was during this recovery time and over the  years since, that Harlow discovered her true love of Classic and Neo-burlesque. An astounding platform where people of all genders, ages, shapes, sizes, and walks of life could have creative control over bringing their visions to life, sharing stories, emotions, and experiences with the audience, essentially full of endless possibilities.

Harlow Holiday has continued to study different forms of dance, the history of burlesque; scouring old books, articles, the web, videos, documentaries, any resources available to become a well rounded artist, also training with legends of the past and present whenever possible. She enjoys traveling to burlesque festivals to meet people with similar passions and gain new knowledge and inspiration. She was given her first opportunity to perform in a burlesque show in late 2014 and has been a whirlwind of creativity ever since, designing and creating the majority of her own costumes, performing with Bing Bamboo Room Burlesque in Albany, NY, Sirens & Stilettos Cabaret in Rochester, NY , Justin Saine's Imaginarium in Binghamton, and in Early Spring 2014 she co-founded Salt City Burlesque, a troupe based in Syracuse, NY with a mission of producing avant garde variety shows that feature local talent and regional guest performers, building a solid statewide performance art community, as well as educating the public on the past, present, and future of this wonderfully liberating art form!

As a believer that her story was written in the stars, Harlow Holiday continues to write her destiny with each new day.. <3
